Spreadability vs. Stickiness

Image
After being in class this week I came to know how media is shared and how sharing them in different ways makes a difference in who see’s them. There is tactics that are used to share information through media and these tactics are spreadability veruses stickiness. It seems to be that spreadability is more efficient because it truly focuses on the connections between people, accounts, brands, and more all on social media. These connections are brightened and made more noticeable just by over serving them through social media platforms. Spreadability basically focuses on the “why” and not the “how. It is more the logistic side that can be spread amongst others. While stickiness just draws everyone into that subject but it cannot be passed around to other people. It is more of a destination and you “stick” there instead of coming across it and passing it along, which is what spreadability is. So basically for example, a recipe video on facebook using all trader joe’s products can be stu

Wait, Seriously, A Thousand Words.

And so it goes.. If you are reading this and intend to read it all the way through, than enjoy these next one thousand words. I promise to make it as interesting as possible, so thank you for reading. So it all starts with my experiences, where I have been, what I have done, who I have met, and most importantly, how collaboration ties into all the above. My entire life I have been a tad bit more “tech savvy” I guess you could say. I just think I always had a thing for technology and it became a big part of who I was. When I was younger I had a youtube channel with my best friends and we always came up with funny dances or skits and posted them. That is basically where the collaboration began. I have always loved working in groups; I come from a very big family so I was raised that way. I also played sports my entire life so collaborating was the only way to get things done. I am very independent, yes, but I truly do work well with others as well. In fact, I tend to enjoy being aroun

Interacting in Person vs. on Social Media

For the first day of class this week, we talked about a very interesting subject that actually led me to have a good rest of my day because I was so engaged in this topic. We read the article “What Really Makes Teams Work” by Geoff Colvin as homework and discussed it in class. A few things really stood out to me that had not dawned on me otherwise had I not read this article. To begin with, the article stated that amongst all the friends people have on Facebook, around ten of them actually have an impact on your real world actions. They did a study that Facebook put out a notification to vote, yet if you were not going to vote then that post did not incline you to vote. But if your friends posted the post saying “I Voted” then you are more inclined to vote due to the fact that your friends did so. Especially if your friends that posted it are within the close ten friends. Along with that is in person interactions will always stump social media interactions. Even though we have emojis

Improvise

One thing that I always have found extremely interesting is improvisation. I grew up watching comedy with my parents and as I got older I have gone to the “improv” in Los Angeles many times. Improv is truly a great example of collaborating whenever it is done in scenes and groups. After watching Tina Fey’s video about improv, I realized that the techniques are actually very interesting. I loved that she said that in improv you always have to agree. If you do not agree then you ended the scene before it even started. Many things in life we automatically say no to, but improv is beautiful for the reason of always saying yes and running with it. She used the example of saying “wow it is really hot in here” and then her partner in the scene could say “well what did you expect in hell?” I also love that there is no wrong answer in improv. That you could say it is hot in here and envision yourself in an inferno of hell but your partner says “well you do have fifty jackets on, maybe lighten t
